Ska bands already confirmed for Warped 2009

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

I know it seems like next summer is a lifetime away, especially since we just got a half-foot of snow the other day, but there is already some news regarding Vans Warped Tour 2009.  Tom Rowles of NotMTV caught up with Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and got him to leak some information regarding the tour.  Notable ska bands have already been confirmed, including Big D and the Kids Table and Westbound Train.  Other artists Lyman unveiled were Anti-Flag, Bouncing Souls, Chiodos, Flogging Molly, Lights, NOFX, POS, Shooter Jennings, TAT, The Devil Wears Prada, and Underoath.

Lyman also discussed the changes to expect from the 2009 tour.  Plans include to condense the number of stages and having only 1 main stage.  Set times, which were traditionally 30 minutes, will be extended to 40 minutes.  I have always thought that the Warped Tour sets were too short for the bands that I like and this might give them an opportunity to play some new material.

You can check out the Kevin Lyman interview video after the jump.
