Last Thursday night on 89.3 The Current (Minnesota Public Radio 89.3 FM), DJ Jake Rudh dedicated his show Transmission to the world of ska.  Playing selections from well-known Jamaican ska, British 2 Tone ska, and third-wave tunes, Rudh gave a fun audio overview of the genre for the unfamiliar.

In honor of legendary ska band The Specials playing at the 2012 Olympics in London, DJ Jake Rudh will be entering the world of 2-Tone Records during his radio program Transmission on Minnesota Public Radio’s music station 89.3 The Current tonight at 10pm.  It is wonderful to see such a big radio station dedicate time to exploring ska music and I’m sure it will be interesting to hear Jake’s take on the genre.

DJ Jake Rudh hosts the long-running weekly Minneapolis-based post-punk, new wave and indie dance night Transmission every Wednesday night at Club Jäger, and now, he brings the party to The Current every Thursday night at 10pm.  You can tune in at 89.3 FM in the Twin Cities or online at thecurrent.org
