In The Studio: Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

According to Punknews.org, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones have recording and touring plans for this summer.

We have been busy for quite a while now writing songs and recording demos for a new MMB full-length. In June we will begin recording the album in Los Angeles with our good friend Ted Hutt on board as Producer. The process to this point has been really fun and we currently have 20 or so new songs in the works.

Since we are all going to be out there, we thought we’d take a quick spin up the coast to see some people and places we haven’t seen for a long, long time.

This is exciting news for Bosstones fans!  The past couple years have been pretty active for them, seeing as they released their rarities album Medium Rare in 2007 and toured with Dropkick Murphys in Summer 2008.  The upcoming full length will be their first since 2002′s A Jackknife To A Swan.

Video: Marching Band Ska Punk Show

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

I know this video has been on the internet for a while, but in 2007 the Cal Marching Band did a medley of Ska Punk tunes for the halftime show of the football game.  Songs include “Sell Out” by Reel Big Fish, “Superman” by Goldfinger, “The Impression That I Get” by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and “Beer” by Reel Big Fish.  Being a huge ska fan and a former marching band member, this video makes me very happy.
