Sublime With Rome debuts first single “Panic”

Monday, May 9th, 2011

You all know the story by now.  More than a decade after the tragic death of Bradley Nowell, the remaining members of Sublime recruited a new member Rome Ramirez and after several lawsuits, they were forced to change their name to Sublime With Rome.  In the recent months, the band announced that they had signed with Fueled By Ramen and were recording a full-length album Yours Truly to be released on that label on July 12th.

The band has debuted the first single “Panic” on KROQ.  You can hear the song HERE

Not quite the Sublime of old, but definitely not as bad as you think!

Interview: Bud Gaugh (Sublime)

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Legendary reggae-punk-dub band Sublime played a reunion show last weekend at the Smokeout Festival and featured their new lead-singer/guitarist Rome.  Founding member and drummer Bud Gaugh was recently interviewed regarding the future of the band amidst their recent “reformation” which was posted on the band’s MYSPACE page.

Sublime originally broke up in 1996 following the heroin overdose which took the life of guitarist and songwriter Bradley Nowell. The band’s rebirth has come with plenty of legal issues: The trio’s use of the name Sublime has been challenged by Silverback Management’s Jon Phillips, who according to the LA Times has acted as the band’s co-manager since 2003, as well as the estate of Bradley Nowell. Nowell’s family publically disapproved of the reunion and unsuccessfully tried to block it with a restraining order.
