Midwest Ska Moment: Episode 014 – Skaliticians

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Minnesota is known for cold weather, Prince, and crazy accents (see the movies Drop Dead Gorgeous and Fargo).  However, this state also has a plethora of ska-influenced, spanish-speaking bands, including the St. Paul band the Skaliticians.  Ska pun aside, these bilingual musicians keep things hot and spicy with a mix of salsa, funk, and reggae.  Ay Carumba!

Track of the Day: “Hombre de Ojolata” by Skaliticians

This episode is brought to you by the Fancy Pants Gangsters, a Twin Cities netcast network and MNSKA, Minnesota’s Ska Community.  If you are in a ska or reggae influenced band and would like to be featured on the show, email Courtney at MSM@fancypantsgangsters.com
