Show Announcement: Mustard Plug, Moving To Pluto, The Waffle Stompers, Stop Drop

Mustard Plug are celebrating their 20th year as a band this year! These ska-punk veterans hail from Grand Rapids, MI and make a point of bringing their upbeat sounds to the Twin Cities annually. The band released In Black And White in 2007.

Moving To Pluto is an MNSKA band have been playing their alternative style of punk, pop, and ska-reggae in the Twin Cities for quite a while. The band is celebrating the release of their latest EP!

The Waffle Stompers are making the trip from New Jersey to kick it with the MNSKA scene! This band is busy playing shows and bringing their pop-ska sounds to all that will hear.

Stop Drop is the latest music project from MNSKA band 2 Tone Runts. This band brings raw energy in the form of folk-punk anthems. Check out their latest single “Caffeine Culture” on their website

MNSKA band Moving To Pluto has been busy in the interim writing and recording new songs for an upcoming release expected this Spring.  The band has posted a video from the studio of their new song “Injabulo.”  The video even includes lyrics, so you can sing along!

There’s a big MNSKA show happening this week to warm you up during this sub-zero winter.  On Wednesday, January 6th 2010, head over to The Depot Coffee House in Hopkins, MN to see the reunited Airwave Bandits, Moving To Pluto, Hardcore Crayons and local indie-pop group Whosah.  This ALL AGES show is only $4 and the music will get started around 6:30 pm.  Get out to the show and shake those mid-winter blues!

Some bands tour with the aggressiveness of a wolverine in heat.  Today’s band is not one of those bands.  Maple Grove, MN’s Moving To Pluto choose to make each show a precious, special event.  That and they are away at college 9 months out of the year.  They are yet another reason to look forward to school letting out for the semester.

Interview: Moving To Pluto

MNSka band Moving To Pluto just had their CD Release/Final show last Friday at The Depot Coffeehouse in Hopkins, MN.  MNSka.com’s Patrick Larson had time to sit down with the band for a few minutes after the show to share their thoughts on their latest EP Doin’ It For The Looks as well what the future holds.

Show Announcement: Moving To Pluto CD RELEASE 8/21/09

MNSka band Moving To Pluto has completed their new EP Doin’ It For The Looks and will be releasing it at their last show of the summer on Friday, August 21st at The Depot Coffeehouse in Hopkins, MN.  Lewis from Moving To Pluto posted on the MNSka FORUM:

I would love to see all you there as it will most likely be our last show in minnesota ever, were moving on, we play a show in fargo then were gonna call it quits. I will not be leaving this mnska scene though, i plan on being in bands in the future, just not moving to pluto

Tours: Small Kitchen Appliances

MNSka band Small Kitchen Appliances have been really busy the last few months preparing for the release of their first full-length album Versus Billy Mays and booking their weeklong midwest tour to support the CD release.  The tour kicks off with their show this Friday, July 10th at the Red Sea with fellow MNSka bands The Prizefighters, Rocksteady Breakfast, and Moving To Pluto.

Show Announcement: Small Kitchen Appliances CD RELEASE July 10th

MNSka band Small Kitchen Appliances will be releasing their first full-length album Versus Billy Mays on Friday, July 10th at an ALL AGES show at the Red Sea in Minneapolis, MN.  The show will also kickoff the band’s midwest tour.  Opening acts will include MNSka bands The Prizefighters, Rocksteady Breakfast, and Moving To Pluto.   The doors will open at 5pm and it’s only $5 cover!  Small Kitchen Appliances have promised games and prizes between sets and don’t forget to bring some extra cash to pick up their brand new CD!
