As we’ve reported earlier, the documentary Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone has been completed and features narrator Laurence Fishburne as well as interviews around the LA music scene from folks like No Doubt, Flea, Ice-T and Perry Farrell.  The documentary is centered around the genre-bending band known as Fishbone.  The above clip describes how the band invaded the punk rock scene.  The clip below describes how the band was able to thrive in the LA South-Central hood.

The trailer for the upcoming Fishbone documentary has finally been posted.  The documentary, entitled Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone, is narrated by actor Laurence Fishburne.

The producers of the documentary had this to say:

From the shifting faultlines of Hollywood fantasies and the economic and racial tensions of Reagan’s America, Fishbone rose to become one of the most original bands of the last 25 years. With a blistering combination of punk and funk they demolished the walls of genre and challenged the racial stereotypes and political order of the music industry and the nation. In celebration of the band’s 25th anniversary the band will soon be appearing in a new documentary. The iconic Laurence Fishburne narrates the film and tells it like it is. A story about music, history, fear, courage and funking on the one.

According to my sources over at Spinner.com,  legendary ska, punk, funk, metal, hip-hop band Fishbone has a documentary coming out entitled Everyday Sunshine.  The documentary will be narrated by Morpheus himself, Laurence Fishburne, and will feature many celebrity interviews with Chuck D, George Clinton, Tim Robbins, Gwen Stefani, Ice-T, Flea and many other famous fans of the storied band.  Everyday Sunshine will most likely debut at the SXSW festival in Austin, TX in March, then have a wider release later this year.  You will also get to see some footage from some vintage Fishbone shows from the mid-to-late 80′s submitted by fans.

Fishbone will be playing in Minneapolis on Thursday, March 4th at The Cabooze with The English Beat as part of the Spring Skaward Tour.
