MNSKA band The Prizefighters warmed up the crowd last Saturday at the Triple Rock Social Club by opening for The Aquabats. MNSKA’s own Patrick Larson shot this video of the band covering another MNSKA band GYLBOTS with the song “Before Tonight.”

MNSka band GYLBOTS played their farewell show at Eclipse Records on Friday, September 4th.  MNSka.com’s Patrick Larson met up with the lads outside the show to discuss their illustrious past, their extremely limited edition (25 copies only) of their latest CD Find True Love In The End, and when we’ll be able to see their other band The Prizefighters play next.

MNSka band GYLBOTS (Get Your Lazy But Off The Sofa) played their last show ever at Eclipse Records in St. Paul, MN on Friday September 4th.  Although this crazy ska-infused punk group are calling it quits, the guys are still very active in the MNSka scene playing for the reggae-soul group The Prizefighters.  Thanks to MNSka.com’s Patrick Larson for posting this video.

MNSka rudeboys Rocksteady Breakfast recently played a ska-fueled set at the GYLBOTS Reunion/Farewell show at Eclipse Records in St. Paul, MN.  MNSka’s Patrick Larson shot this video of them performing their song “Quien Tu?”

Be sure to catch Rocksteady Breakfast when they play at Beaner’s Central in Duluth, MN with Mikey Talented on October 16th.  They are also playing with The Toasters and Sajak at the Triple Rock on October 22nd.

As mentioned before on this site, MNSka band GYLBOTS are mustering enough energy to play one final epic show before fading into the mist.  The ALL AGES show will be taking place this Friday, September 4th at Eclipse Records in St. Paul, MN.  GYLBOTS will be joined by fellow MNSka band Rocksteady Breakfast as well as Burn All Flags, The Bloody Turncoats and Animal Attack!  The doors open at 5pm and with only a $3 cover there is no reason to miss the final show by these ska-punkers!

Last night, MNSka band GYLBOTS dropped into the studio of KFAI (90.3 Mpls – 106.7 St. Paul) for the Radio Revolucion show.  The crew play an energetic set of ska and rocksteady.  They also were interviewed by the show’s hosts Gabe and Sacha.  The guys are promoting their upcoming reunion show at Eclipse Records in St. Paul, MN on Friday, September 4th.  This will also be the last GYLBOTS show as most of the band are focused on their other reggae-soul band The Prizefighters.

South High students Zach McCormick (Airwave Bandits), Joe McKenzie and Aaron Mayer created “21 and Under: The TCU and the Minneapolis All Ages Music Scene,” a video about the TC Underground, a Minneapolis All Ages venue, and its demise. They produced the piece with help from the Minneapolis Television Network (MTN) through the Voices program.  The video features interviews with MNSka notables such as the 2 Tone Runts, Tim Aderhold (Airwave Bandits) and Aaron Porter (The Prizefighters, GYLBOTS).
