Rude Radio: 8/9/09

Reverend Evan and his always trusty sidekick Citizen D spin ska and reggae tracks old and new for this episode of Rude Radio on Radio K (KUOM Minneapolis-St. Paul).  The guys give away tickets for the upcoming Reel Big Fish/ English Beat show on Tuesday at the Minnesota Zoo.  Citizen D presents the weekly “Roots Rock Roadtrip” to Manresa Festival in Spain in August featuring The Toasters.  They even find time to throw in some ska jazz.

Rude Radio w/ special guests Sajak!

Courtney and Ryan of MNSka band Sajak dropped by the studios for this week’s episode of Rude Radio on Radio K (KUOM college radio).  The guys brought in their collection of ska vinyl and chatted with DJs Reverend Evan and Citizen D about their upcoming show on July 26th at the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis with recently reunited 3 Minute Hero.  They also talked about what Sajak has been up to during their hiatus, discussed details about some upcoming contests on MNSka.com, and gave shoutouts to their favorite local ska bands.

Rude Radio: The Prizefighters

This Sunday, February 8th, MNSka band The Prizefighters will play an exclusive live in-studio performance on the Rude Radio show.  The band will also join hosts the Reverend Evan and Citizen D for an on-the-air interview.  You can hear Rude Radio every Sunday from 12 pm – 2 pm on Radio K in Minneapolis-St. Paul on 770 AM, 106.5 FM in Minneapolis, and 100.7 FM in St. Paul.  You can also stream the show live on the web at RadioK.org.

The month of ska came to a close on Rude Radio as MNSka band Umbrella Bed joined Reverend Evan and Citizen D at Radio K last Sunday, November 2nd.  Part of the promotion of the upcoming MNSka show on November 8th at the Triple Rock, Umbrella Bed played a live in-studio performance.  Make sure to get out to the show to pick up their brand new album, Go, released by Mad Butcher Records.

The month of ska continues on Rude Radio as MNSka band Sajak joined Reverend Evan and Citizen D at Radio K last Sunday, October 19th.  Part of the promotion of the upcoming MNSka show on November 8th at the Triple Rock, Sajak played a live in-studio performance.  The 7 song set included 2 brand new, never-performed songs as well as a number that have been written since their 2007 release, Kick It Back To Health.

Kabel and Jimmy, from the MNSka band Small Kitchen Appliances, dropped by Rude Radio (Radio K 770 AM) last Sunday and played a live acoustic set in Studio K.  The two stuck around for an interview with Reverend Evan to promote the upcoming Umbrella Bed CD release show coming up on Saturday, November 8th at the Triple Rock Social Club.
